 Latest Excavations


    Historic NYC Hotel

Arched terracotta with various decorative motifs lined this famous hotel in Midtown Manhattan.  The Architecturologists were able to retrieve quite a few of these arched window surrounds including the twisted columns with corinthian capitals.  Other items salvaged were the iron balconies and interior lighting fixtures... not to mention draperies and bedding...take a look...

 

     

    Blackie's

Blackie's is a long-standing steakhouse in Washington DC.  The owner's decorated the interior and exterior with many beautiful architectural elements - giving this restaurant a unique and rich decor.  Recently these elements went to auction and we were able to purchase iron doors, mantel pieces, beautiful decorative lighting, signage, doors, iron grates, stained glass and more...
 

     
         

  

Park Avenue Find...

These and many other architectural elements were retrieved from an apartment on Park Avenue near 80th St.... an entire panelled room (already sold), wooden pilasters, iron railing, lighting, marble mantels, bathroom fixtures, decorative mirrors, doors and more...

Corrugated glass from the Philadelphia Naval yard's windows was transformed into this unique room divider.  Architectural elements make many interesting transformed reuses...
